Events in the Parish
Ash Wednesday: Masses for Ash Wednesday will be celebrated at 12:05pm and 7pm. Ashes will be distributed after the homily at both Masses.
Lenten Opportunities:
- Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Friday of Lent at 7:30pm in the church, beginning Friday, February 24th and going through Good Friday, April 6th.
- Weekly Lenten Group will meet on Monday evenings at 7:30pm in the parish hall beginning Monday February 27th. We hope you will join us for this opportunity to spend some time reflecting upon your faith during this Lenten season. All are welcome! Please come whenever you are able, a weekly commitment is not required to attend. For more information contact April Gagne in the parish office.
Speaker on Forgiveness: Sr. Charlene Diorka, SSJ will be joining us on Thursday, March 15, at 7:30pm in the parish hall for a talk about forgiveness. More information to come. Save the date!
Parish Service Day: On Saturday, March 31st from 9:30am - 2:30pm we will be having a parish cleaning day, preparing the inside of the church and the parish grounds for Holy Week and Easter.
Catholic Charities Appeal: We would like to extend a special thanks to all who have generously contributed to the annual appeal for Catholic Charities. The Appeal is still going on, if you have not yet had the chance to donate and would still like to contribute please feel free to do so by putting an envelope in the regular collection this weekend.
2011 Contribution Letters: The 2011 contribution statements for tax purposes, for all registered parishioners who have donated to the church in the past year using envelopes or checks, have been mailed. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office. Thanks.
Lector Training: On Tuesday, March 6th at 7:30pm there will be a training session for all new lectors (including those who have started serving in the past year). If you are interested in becoming a lector or learning more about the training session, please contact the parish office.
Cleaning of Church: In the parish survey, there were several people who indicated they would be willing to help with the cleaning and maintenance of the church. If you would like to help, there are opportunities to assist with regular cleaning, as well as scheduled service days (such as on March 31st). If you are interested in helping, please contact the parish office. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Little Sisters of the Poor Spring Concert: Chase the winter blues away by coming to the Little Sisters of the Poor's Spring Concert, featuring the Irish group, Dervish. Enjoy traditional Irish tunes while supporting the needy elderly of Holy Family Home! Concert will be held at Prendergast High School auditorium on Sunday, March 4, reception at 3pm and concert at 6pm. Admission is $45/person and includes snacks and beverages. Men's Spirituality Conference: Man Up Philly, the annual Men's Spirituality Conference of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will be held on Saturday, March 3rd. All men are encouraged to attend for an inspiring time of faith and sharing and to join others who are ready to Man-Up, by living their true calling.
